BASL Environmental Sustainability Policy and Strategic Framework

Our policy is to ensure that BASL activities align with the wider environmental sustainability aims. In our routine business, in our professional association service to members and in the context of the wider liver healthcare community this means urgently working in partnership with relevant bodies to expand and integrate data on climate change into the understanding of liver disease.

BASL Sustainable Hepatology Working Group

The working group meets 4 times a year and are looking for a few new members to join the group.  If you are interested contact admin@basl.org.uk .

BASL BSG Sustainable Healthcare webinars

BASL and BSG commissioned The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare in 2024 to run a series of 3 Sustainable Healthcare webinars.

  1. March 2024 - Introduction to sustainable healthcare in the context of liver disease
  2. May 2024 - Embedding sustainability into service development and delivery using the SusQI framework
  3. July 2024 - Research in sustainability: the role of carbon footprinting
